On Saturday Nov.16 around 450 people marched through Koreatown in solidarity with the call to Boycott Assi Market and Forever 21 clothing retailers, and to stand in solidarity with immigrant workers. See photos from the demonstration: 1, 2, 3, 4.

In the words of the struggle: "Two groups of immigrant workers have started campaigns to fight for their rights and to get them the dignity they deserve. These workers have bravely stood up to industry giants and refused to be scared into silence. Even though the companies have threatened these workers with a variety of despicable tactics, these workers have continued their struggle and ask you to support them until justice has been served.

SUPERMARKET WORKERS IN KOREATOWN are fighting for better treatment and have organized the Immigrant Workers Union (IWU) for workers at Assi Market. The owner has refused to recognize the union and has retaliated against union organizers. Don't buy from ASSI market until they are fair with workers. www.boycottassi.com

GARMENT WORKERS FROM DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES have joined together from 15 different garment factories to demand unpaid wages from Forever 21, a retailer that uses sweatshop labor to produce its clothes. The owner of Forever 21 owns part of the Oxford Hotel and Take Sushi. Don't buy clothes from Forever 21 until they pay workers what they are owed." www.garmentworkercenter.org
