The Rick Caruso-owned Americana shopping center in Glendale is the location of a regular anti-Musk protest, one of several in Greater L.A. While the “quaint town” is private property, the lawn in the center is public. Across the street from that is a Tesla dealership.
No less than 50 protesters turned out this week and attracted notice from the passing Saturday shoppers. Chants included "Tax the Rich! Tax the Rich! Tax the Rich!" (which was also used at, of all places, recent Republican town hall meetings). Reactions from passing shoppers were often very curious, sometimes enthusiastic (a few joined us), others were indifferent, and some reacted negatively.
