Is INDYMEDIA SHAPE SHIFTING PHOTOS after publishing one, inserting another ?

by non-censoring activist Saturday, Jan. 24, 2009 at 9:09 PM

Indy had a photo of a woman looking like she was in some sort of agony, so a comment was posted questionning this pix. Then the pix changed...huh????? is this permitted? what are the rules and guidelines for shape shifting pix or stories AFTER they are published here ? What games are being played that this website encourages or allows?

take another look....a photo has been EXHANGED for the one previously posted / published with this article and the old one is now is placed elsewhere - oh so conveniently....

it was at http://la.indymedia.org/news/2009/01/223864_comment.php#223879

the article titled:

Jews Shut Down Israeli Counsulate in Protest of Attack on Gaza! by Jewish People of Conscience Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2009 at 9:49 AM

BUT after my comment on did not appear as originally posted, and seemed to be temporarily removed or unavailable, but in a few days later the next viewing show a TOTALLY DIFFERENT PIX IN PLACE OF THE ONE FOR WHICH THE COMMENT WAS INTENDED.

the first comment was about a pix of woman chained [looking like in agony of some sort] so the appropriate comment from one point of view was:

- - - -

"what a sorry spectacle

by yep just another jew too Thursday, Jan. 15, 2009

is this woman in pain because she chose to chain herself to some post or wall or other people? ..."[snip]

- - - - -

Now...that comment LOOKS as if it was stupid & irrelevant to the NEW photo put in place.

Is Indymedia staff CHANGING PIX after one is posted to another one to confuse us ?

Did Indymedia staff CHANGE THE PHOTO THAT WAS ABOVE the prior comment - to make the comment writer look stupid and incongruous ?

Are commentators able to change their story and pictures AFTER PUBLISHING IT HERE to revise and change the slant so that other commentators are fooled and look foolish for saying what then doesnt fit any more ?

A very different photo was displayed for a few days before the 1/15/09 comment above was written and it was not "hate-speech", not cursing, not defaming, not agreeing and not hating anyone in particular, but it does QUESTION the then-photo that was then-displayed.

So why the game playing or what are the rules of this Indymedia game?

Are staff / volunteers at Indymedia allowed to slant and hide whatever THEY personally dont like or agree with ?

Is that INDEPENDENCE ? or censorship ? & propaganda ? made for a certain cause - or two or three -

is anyone who is not wanting better for the latest victims, while he latest propagandized version of "news" per the main street major media, per the local 'radicals' who think of themselvles as RIGHTEOUS and maybe even heroic are all the while safely esconced in some Beverly Hills consulate garage ...

Please ! provide us all GUIDELINES and honest information as to who and how this website operates and what are the hidden agendas, how the oversight is kept by responsible people Here, and the ways that things can be so sureptitiously shifted or changed to confuse the audience.

If only those with the rebellious, angry, volatile or 'protesting' orientation are allowed here, then give us all the sign that others need not write or read this and we can all let the rest of more fair & balanced Indy sites know the limited "orientation" ALLOWED HEREin LA . There are many other blogs available easily but this is pertinent to what happens in Our City, so we thought.

IF all can be published that is not violent-prone, nor directly insulting [by a more general consensus - not just individual personal sensitivity ], that is not fraudulent or fake information, or that is not attack intended to hurt or destroy, what are the CRITERIA for posting, allowing comments, articles, pix, and 'other' points of view here ?

Let us know, for it appears that shifty moves are happening and it is not the hacking by Turks but the manipulating by someone closer that seems to also be a problem here.

Is it ?

Tell us all at one time, Indy staff...how does this work or does it work fairly ?
