Alan Greenspan at the Feds: A Disaster for America (tags)
The supposed financial guru, Alan Greenspan, was nominated to head the Federal Reserve, in 1987, by that union-bashing dunce, President Ronald Reagan. At his confirmation hearing, the late Sen. William Proxmire (D-WI), exposed the fact that Greenspan’s economic forecasting record was “dismal” and “wrong” most of the time. In his book: “Greenspan’s Bubbles,” William A. Fleckenstein proves Sen. Proxmire’s instincts were prophetic.
Oh, That Trillion Dollar Financial Bubble, It’s Leaking! (tags)
It’s here! Author Charles R. Morris calls it: “The greatest credit bubble in history!” He insists that the “writedowns and defaults” of credit devices will “come out about $1 trillion.” Problem: President George W. Bush, Jr. is in denial about the crisis. On March 19, 2007, the Baltimore City Council unanimously approved a Resolution condemning the Iraqi War, the lies that got us into it, George W. Bush’s insane “Surge,” and demanded the troops be “safely” withdrawn from that conflict. On that same night, a Peace Rally was held at St. Vincent de Paul RC Church. The Rev. Heber Brown III said: “It’s time for us to raise hell for peace in our churches.” The event was sponsored by the local UPJ group.
Protester Arrested at U.S. Capitol Asks: What About the First Amendment? (tags)
Activists took their case for ending the Iraqi War to the party responsible for authorizing it--the U.S. Congress! On Sept. 26, 2006, 71 protesters were arrested by police on various charges. The organizing groups for the event were the “National Campaign for Nonviolence Resistance” (NCNR) and the “Declaration of Peace.” One of the protesters arrested was Max Obuszewski of the NCNR. He demanded to know: “What about the First Amendment?”
