Deng which mean little bottle in Mandarin was the most important Chinese in China leader of the 20th century. He helped in the "Anti Rightists Campaign of the 1950's and helped to reverse the disaster begun by Mao Zedong's "Great Leap Forward 1958-1961 28-40 million rural deaths.
Xiaoping worried that the agricultural system was not helping most people. After Mao's death due to Parkinson's Disease in 1976 Deng soon began "responsibility nsystem" which allowed for rural people mainly Chinese to plan their own crops and not be told by their central government what to grow.
Deng was attacked by the central party bureacrats 3 times and forced to work in automobile production. Deng Xiaoping's son was thrown from a roof during the so-called "great proletarian cultural revolution" 1966-1976 when most schools were closed by the communist authorities and million of kids seperated from families and forced to work in rural araes for no pay.The Tianamen Square Massacre remains a closed topic.
