Maoists armies violently seized control of parts in China in 1949. Mao took control and instituted his belief that more people would help the country. Their was no sponsored state fa,ily planning until 1976.
The population under Maoism broke from nearly 450 million in 1949 to 1 billion in 1976 when Deng Xiaoping began a 1 child per family polic. This has been ammended to 2 kids per family in yhe 2000+ era by reformers.
