American parents are standing up and demanding the return of trafficked child Jonah Rief

Jonah Rief, an Alabama child trafficked out of the U.S. through the California courts, has not been physically seen, since he was trafficked to Australia on February 26, 2013. Nude and body part photographs of Jonah were seen later in 2013 on a Facebook site under the names of Sara Francis and Sara Frances. Parents fear for Jonah's safety and reports are troubling.

Americans are rallying around Tammy Rief, the unwed Alabama mother, whose child was taken from her and removed from the country by an unrelated man who pretended to be her husband. Tammy has never been married. Records show that the man, known as Brian Sullivan, evaded an Alabama order calling for a DNA test. Though California courts were involved in the trafficking, none of the parties lived in California and jurisdiction was not waived. After he got control of the boy, Sullivan left the country with the boy, a falsified passport and possibly other little kids at the same time.

Jonah's real father and his mother have reportedly both been been threatened. Ms. Rief's family has also been threatened. Despite receivng numerous death threats, Tammy Rief has not been deterred in searching for her son. According to neighbors, Ms. Rief was a loving and a good parent. U.S. ;parents rallying around Ms. Rief have pointed out that it is caring parents who too often are too often the victims of California's sex trafficking. It has been pointed out that when Sullivan made his move, the real father lost his rights to his child. Getting Jonah back is supported by fathers' and mothers' rights advocates alike.

Jonah is six years old and reportedly has information the traffickers fear will be released if Jonah surfaces. Other children have reportedly been trafficked by the same network and a recent report indicates Jonah may have witnessed some kind of murder tied to the traffickers. Irrespective of this latest report, the average life span of a trafficked child is six years from the date of trafficking.€ and Jonah has been gone almost two of those six years Parents helping the mother feel all haste is necessary to save the boy's life.

Parents have called on California Attorney General Kamala Harris and Governor Jerry Brown to take action to end the trafficking of out of state children through the California court system, a reportedly "kids for cash" scheme. So far, neither Governor Brown nor Attorney General Harris have taken any action to curb the problem.

Several recent articles discuss Jonah's trafficking. Many of these articles directly link child trafficking to misconduct within the California courts. These articles point out that there is a danger to all American parents if California Courts do not start protecting children and saying "no" to handouts from traffickers.
