West Hollywood Police Department: "We Don't Need a Reason to Interrogate Pedestrians"

An innocent citizen enjoying her evening privately and quietly
sitting at a bus stop in West Hollywood on February 1
in West Hollywood is suddenly confronted by a West
Hollywood Sheriff patrol car. The police ask how she is
doing. She says fine but she is not interested in talking.
Nevertheless, the officers proceed to get out if their car
immediately with two other squad cars parking alongside the first.
Now the lady is upset and feels threatened unfairly
and begjns to raise her voice asking them what they are
doing. At this point the cop accuses her of being on
meth, drunk , on drugs , on probation and crazy.
He handcuffs her and his supervisor searches her purse.
He puts her in the squad car and says, " I may need
To put you in 72 hour psychiatric hold for evaluation because
You are raising your voice." After the false Insprisonment
And search and allegations are finished , they
let two lady back to her evening claiming their conduct
Was well within their rights .
Watch commander Gunnells claims this is
Permissible under a Supreme Court ruling allowing consensual
Contact. That is incorrect. The contact was not
Consented to by the citizen. She said that was not
Necessary. She said they decided her not being pleased
With them assaulting her by getting out of their
Car for no reason was her fault not theirs. This
Conduct must be challenged in court . We cannot
Accept a police department that thinks it is Robocop
pissing and throwing away the basic dignity of sitting
On a street bench or walking down the street.
This is insane. There must be probable cause
to interrogate a citizen . Otherwise we are all subject to discrimination .
