Across the country, strikers at over 1,500 Wal-Mart stores were getting arrested, were marching en-mass to stores, and making a ruckus. In Los Angeles, we had an unexpected cold snap and an unusually heavy rain which kept the Black Friday rally at the Crenshaw Walmart to 250 people. Despite this, nationally, this was the biggest Black Friday protest in history, exceeding last year's, which was the biggest up to that time.
Follwing up on the 54 activists and workers arrested on November 8th in front of the Chinatown Walmart, activists in cities across the countries conducted organized civil disobediences with over 100 people getting arrested, several as near as Ontario in the Inland Empire.
Protests also happened in South Gate, at the Sam's Club, by community members who were fighting the development of a Walmart there. Ontario, Long Beach, Baldwin Park also had events.
There were notices online of events in Torrance, Baldwin Park, and Panorama City, but no reports or photos from Black Friday 2013 could be found online. It's important to document these actions for future history.
