Why the Search Feature is Off

We were getting hammered by search requests, and even adding indexes wasn't speeding up the search enough. So the search is off for now.

You can search this site via google by using the "site:la.indymedia.org" filter. Just put that string in your search, and only results from this site will appear in your results.

Alternatively, you can just add "la.indymedia.org" to any search on any search engine, and it will tend to cause this site's results to return.

We will eventually get search features back, probably by using Redis.
