Forming a local JS/general programming class. If you're interested, send an email.

A few local activists are preparing a co-learning computer programming class to learn JavaScript and other languages, with the goal of moving forward on personal projects.

This is somewhat like a "hackmeet" except it's about learning and progressive left politics (though the latter is not a requirement). It's also expected to run for a long time, but only a couple hours each week for meetings.

The class is in the planning stages.

It will have a beginner component.

It's open to all skill levels, but it is expected that people with skills will teach some classes, and as people learn more they will teach some part of the beginner level classes.

The direction of the learning will be determined by the needs of the projects.

There will be no grades or tests. Self evaluation will be through publishing code. Everyone is expected to have or start a github or other public repository.

Email johnk@riceball.com if you are interested.
