An op-ed about the media treatment of people protesting.

The media are at it again, turning a legitimate protest into a "riot" after the police started attacking. They did this in the Downtown chalk protest story, and now they're doing it to the Anaheim community.

The police shot a man who was running away from them. The local residents had a legitimate protest, but the police, instead of opening up a conversation with the community, treated the situation as a "riot", when it was not a riot.

The press aren't doing their job, which is to question why officer-involved shootings that aren't justified are becoming (seemingly) more common in Orange County. The press are not asking if there's a need for some civilian review of the police to address possible problems in the police departments.
