Solidarity Hall Matching Fund

Local person offers to match donations to IMC with a larger donation to Solidarity Hall.

In the letter below, Jim Lafferty outlines the reasons why Radical Women need to raise ,000 to move Solidarity Hall to a new location in South LA.

IMC also needs money, because the server costs keep adding up. The nominal price is a month, which is now below market rate, but the actual costs are a lot higher for the Slaptech folks.

So, I'm going to make a matching offer.

For every dollar donated to the IMC bandwidth fund at the left, up to 0, I will donate .50 to Solidary Hall. (If IMC gets 0, RW/FSP will get 0.) The limit is 0 total for donations.

No fair for any RW people to donate. This has to be from the readers here.

Dear Friend of Solidarity Hall,

What do the Coalition to Stop the Execution of Mumia Abu Jamal, Librarians Guild, United Food and Commercial Workers, L.A. March 4th Committee to Defend Public Education and Social Services, Peace and Freedom Party, Dele Aileman Defense Committee, Committee to Stop FBI Repression, and 9to5 Association of Working Women, have in common? They have all held meetings at Solidarity Hall, long-time L.A. headquarters of the Freedom Socialist Party and Radical Women.

Solidarity Hall has been a community resource for over ten years and is one of the few free or low cost meeting spaces in Los Angeles open to radical, social issue and labor groups.

Solidarity Hall must relocate post haste

You may have heard that FSP and RW were evicted in late July and must move this month. Luckily they quickly found a new headquarters in south L.A! But they need financial help to move and to make the new space habitable as quickly as possible.

Your dollars will make a difference

I am writing to ask you to donate to the Solidarity Hall Moving and Renovations Fund. Your contribution will go towards hiring skilled movers with a truck to load and unload heavy furniture and for approximately ,000 for renovations to ensure the new space is safe and disabled accessible. Your assistance, coupled with the hundreds of hours of already donated labor, will help Solidarity Hall reopen its doors quickly.

Donations may be sent to FSP c/o Muffy Sunde, 5121 Van Ness Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90062.

In solidarity and struggle,

Jim Lafferty,

Executive Director,

National Lawyers Guild, Los Angeles Chapter
