For IG Scream 4 it changed the terror for the comedy

The Globe gave more attention to the special participations in the film than to the own film

The Omelete preferred to emphasize the "new rules" of the plot

As of custom the specialized critic was almost limited to do propaganda of the film. This film seems a terror film, it seems to be a comedy film, it seems to be a film on other films, but actually it could be interpreted as an excellent example of fantastic realism.

The two villains kill the victims during the commemoration of the massacre. They film what did and they intend to put everything in the Internet to enjoy the condition of survivors and privileged victims (exactly as the heroine of the trilogy, that is a writer in this 4 film and she makes success telling their last experiences). One of the villains is killed by the partner, which had already killed their friends, her mother and, seemingly, her cousin (the heroine of the trilogy).

The justification of the villain is exemplary. She says that she doesn't need nor friends, nor relatives, nor of partners. She just wants fans. Everything is willing of way what the crimes are attributed to an innocent one and the surviving villain feigns it was attacked in a sequence in that the violence is very realistic.

If it ended when the media recognizes the villain as victim and heroine, this would be one of the best films of the decade. A perfect example of fantastic realism, a transposition for the fiction and the movies of the daily schizophrenic of the American society at the present time.

The public celebration of the free violence if it turned a constant during the wars in course. American soldiers post in the Internet their victims' pictures

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abu_Ghraib_torture_and_prisoner_abuse , they publish videos in that suspects are cut into pieces to machine gun shots http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=5e8_1191374902 (the American former-soldier that indicated me originally this video commemorated the fact of the dog it was not died). What saying of a country that criticizes their opponents because they violate human rights but does it reap torturing Bradley Manning daily without granting right to defender, to a lawsuit and a valid condemnation done utter by exempt Judge? This for not mentioning other examples equally infamous. Everything well considered, in the present it is not difficult to demonstrate or to conclude that the USA sank under the weight of the contradictions created by the imperial wars begun by Bush Jr. and administered now by Obama.

The infamy is inseparable companion of the desire of fast recognition and success effortlessly. In the show society there is no place for morals or for the ethics. This had already been noticed by Guy Debord

http://www.arq.ufsc.br/esteticadaarquitetura/debord_sociedade_do_espetaculo.pdf, that admits the possibility of the critic to the appearance:

"The concept of show unifies and it explains a great diversity of apparent phenomena. Their diversities and contrasts are the organized appearances socially, that they owe, them own, they be recognized in his general truth. Considered according to their own terms, the show is the statement of the appearance and the statement of a lifetime human, socially speaking, as simple appearance. But the critic that reaches the truth of the show discovers it as the visible denial of the life; a denial of the life that became visible."

It is more or less this that Scream 4 does. The film has as theme the infamy of the show, the gratuitousness of the violence, the inexistence of ethics, of love or of friendship among the characters. And this allows the expectants to make a reflection. After all, everything this is already part of the American life at the present time. The brutalities practiced in Iraq and in Afghanistan and Iraq, solemnity-exalted for the American soldiers through the popularization of pictures and videos, they are shared by every society that consumes the infamous images through television and of the internet (even the critics of the war are forced to participate in the show seeing the soldiers' brutality).

The cruelty, the death and the unhealthy desire of success and visibility through the Internet are part of the American society. The easy fame due to the brutalization wanted by the villain of the film is a real show in the USA. Scream 4 seems a film without a lot of pretensions, but it is very good film if it be seen with the due care.

The film, however, it doesn't end how it was able to. The creators of Scream 4 made a concession to the "American way of doing films" when delaying the end for after the moment in that the villain becomes heroine with help of the media. In the other end her plan it is discovered and she is died when the media gets ready to consolidate her positive public image. An easy romanticism dominates this new endl of the film. The victory of the good against the evil is insured. It saves of the claws of the art, the American exceptional nature was reaffirmed. Does the show have to continue? Cannot the people notice the reality through the fiction at this time in that reality and fiction are the same thing?
