L.A. Social Media Strategy Proposal

This is an idea for boosting the turnout for the immigration march on May first. There may be a few different ones due to the annual realignments and fights between sectarians, but all that matters is that people show up in huge numbers!

Across the Web, on comments, the tone of words has changed. Where once, conservatives and (especially) Libertarian Party types dominated, we're now seeing the comments by a pissed off middle class. Liberals and leftists have found their voice - and many who are nominally conservative are joining the chorus. What are they pissed off about?

- Republicans cutting services and not negotiating with Democrats.

- Rich fuckers and the way they screw America.

- The anti-union putsch by the Republicans.

- Obama.

- Unemployment.

- Outsourcing by big business, as well as layoffs and cuts. Shitty trade policies.

It's the stupid economy, stupid.

It's time to strike while the iron is hot. Get the readers out to the May 1st demonstrations downtown.

The hatred against Frances Fox Piven has put public demonstrations into the spotlight -- and people are starting to think it's possible here. After all, if it weren't the rightards wouldn't be so worried.

Now, they might not give a shit about immigration, and may even be hostile to immigration, so sell it as a worker's day, left wing and liberals march. Tell them to take homemade signs about their own issue. It's WORKERs day, not just for immigrants, but all workers (and unemployed).
