If you've forgotten you calculus, you stand to lose your property
The OC Public Guardian is conducting competency tests on seniors. He says the wishes of the seniors is irrelevant. If he finds that they are not 100%, a guardianship is in their best interests.
The Public Guardian trusts his control of OC Seniors' property more than he trusts that of family members. He admits that he will rack up fees that may eliminate the value of the property while family members will help their relatives for free. Still, John Williams feels his office is more deserving of control than the seniors or their loved ones. The County of Orange needs money and the bill will come off the backs of seniors.
If you are a senior and you don't want to lose your property, you may be out of luck. If you have bad care at a medical facility or you or your loved ones have complained to offiicials about anything in your life, you may already be close to the front of the list.
