Several American commentators are attacking the popularization of the sport in the country, saying that it is treated of a sporting modality "of poor", South American thing, result of the growing influence of the Hispanics in the country and linked to president Barack Obama's "socialist politics."
Glenn Beck, Fox News most famous conservative commentator, compares the soccer to the politics of Obama. "Doesn't import how many celebrities support him, how many bars open earlier, how many commercial of beer they transmit, we don't want the World Cup, we didn't like the World Cup, we didn't like the soccer and we don't want to have anything to see with that", it roared Beck in TV. According to him, the soccer is as the current government: "The remaining of the world likes politics of Obama, but us no."
