Police ignore audible abuse in Northeast Santa Ana

In Northeast Santa Ana, a violent domestic abuser continues to torture his wife. Today the police were next door checking out a burglary while neighbors could hear the man yelling at and threatening his wife.

There is no help for domestic violence victims in Santa Ana. It is well know that the Santa Ana police always look the other way.

Today, the man, Mark, refused to allow his wife to even have a dollar for food. The couple had received a check for a thousand dollars recently, but the husband yelled that he spent it all and did not have anything left for her to eat. From listening to the argument, neighbors could tell he had gone out for a lavish meal with the son Alex, but his wife wasn’t invited and he yelled that he had no money for her to eat. There was audible discussion about his having slammed her head into a wall, causing her to bleed. The woman also seemed to be pleading with the son for just a small item of food but was refused.

The interesting thing about arguments of this kind is the way in which abusers justify the abuse. The husband yelled that asking him for food was harassment and he would punish her for harassing him if she didn’t stop asking for food. She could be heard crying.

So why doesn’t Social Services in Orange County give food to victims of domestic violence? Why is there nobody to help people like the Northeast Santa Ana woman, who has had to undergo violence, starvation and general cruelty? Will anything be done if she dies from the violence? Probably not. What about the millions of others in her situation? Why doesn’t the government care?

America and Orange County need to wake up to plight of domestic violence victims.
