Brazilian gays are angered.

This week the Brazilian press announced copiously the manifestation of the General that showed openly against the boiolas* admission in the Brazilian Armed Forces.

"During revision test accomplished on Wednesday in the Commission of Constitution and Justice of the Senate, the General said that the gays don't have profile 'compatible' with the Armed Forces. According to the general, 'the military life if it covers of characteristics that cannot be framed on whom he has that type of behavior'. The military stood out, however, that he doesn't see problems in the presence of gays in the Armed Forces, since the behavior of these it maintained the 'dignity and the honor'. "

Homosexuality and militarism were always the two faces of the same coin. It is treated of a tradition and the General must have learned at the Military School that:

1-Achilles did have his Pátroklos (in Greek Πάτροκλος the "father's glory"). Taken of fury because of his lover's death, did Achilles face and did it defeat Hector in singular combat, but later it was reached by an arrow in the heel died because it fell and did it beat the head in a stone.

2-Alexander III of Macedon (popularly known as Alexander the Great) did have his Heféstion Amintoros with which passed "luminous" nights even after married with Roxane (in Greek Ῥωξάνη , of the Persian Roshanak or Roshaniâ does "luminous star" )

3-Julio Caesar was famous for liking as much of the women as of their husbands. Caio Suetônio Tranquilo affirms that Caesar "... it had prostituted in Bitínia his youth's flower... " (Life of Twelve Caesars). According to Suetônio, Caesar was passive lover of King Nicomedes, that called him of Queen. This was the reason for the which the soldiers sang during the Victory granted to his commander because of the conquest of Gália:

"Caesar now triumphs, because it arrested Gálias

However, Nicomedes, that arrested Caesar, doesn't triumph"

Suetônio affirms although "... nobody doubted the as him (Caesar) it was infamous in the sodomy and in the adultery, Curio father called him in an of their speeches, 'the women's husband of all and the woman of all of the husbands.' ".

4-Adolf Hitler, that was a soldier in the I World War and it commanded the German Generals in the II World War, he was close friend of Ernst Röhm. Röhm, that organized Sturmabteilung by order of Hitler, was a well-known homosexual that said that the sex among uniform companions was beneficial because it increased the connections among the soldiers.

The manifestation of the Brazilian General against the admission of homosexuals in the Brazilian Armed Forces doesn't find foundation in general in the history (nor in the military history that he learned). His safeguard (he said that "... doesn't see problems in the presence of gays in the Armed Forces, since the behavior of these it maintained the 'dignity and the honor' ") it suggests two inconvenience questions.

What does the General really want? Don't the Brazilian uniformed boiolas want competition or don't they want to leave the closet?

* boiolas = popular and humorous form that the Brazilians use to call the homosexuals.
