Palparan's vow to attack unarmed and vulnerable targets is cowardice -- NDF-Southern Mindanao
Los Angeles-- The EPCC news learned today through media sources that the NDF-Mindanao condemns the butcher general Jovito Palparan, Jr. had pronounced last year that he will bring his anti-communism crusade in Davao City especially during the election period.
Now with only a month to go before the reactionary GRP election kicks off, expect Palparan's open and dirty war against progressive party-lists, individuals, groups and their supporters to be unleashed.
However, behind these supposedly fearsome posturing of Palparan is actually his cowardice.
Palparan has only managed to kill members of legal and progressive groups -- unarmed and easy targets as they are obviously in the urban centers. He has, however, failed to crush a revolutionary movement that up to now is resilient because of an ever-widening and deepening support from the masses especially in the countryside.
After lavishing praise on Palparan in her State of the Nation Address with the latter claiming several lives and drawing blood from his countless victims in Mindoro, Eastern Visayas, Central Luzon, and other regions where he had been assigned, Ms. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo once more unleashes Palparan -- this time in Davao City.
GMA's Nograles campaigns with Palapran
With the support of local cohort and Arroyo lapdog Prospero Nograles, Palparan serves the interest of both masters which is to perpetuate themselves in power through every means -- dirty, fraudulent, and bloody.
Nograles believes he can seize the mayoralty of Davao City and advance his own political and economic agenda by sending Palparan to clear the city of the revolutionary movement and other adjacent areas in Southern Mindanao. This augurs well for Mrs. Arroyo's vested economic interests of exploiting our resources and selling out our national patrimony and sovereignty to US and other imperialist countries.
Palparan, together with the 10th Infantry Division-AFP will carry out their vicious plans of vilifying and attacking progressive groups, party-lists, individuals and supporters in urban areas of Davao City.
In the hinterlands, it is expected that farmers and lumad civilians in Paquibato and other areas of the New People's Army and the revolutionary movement, will suffer the brunt of military operations and Palparan's murderous rampage.
Killing civilians is certainly a cowardly act that Palparan and the 10th ID-AFP can do.
Palparan, however, should not forget that he is a 'marked man.' Last year too, the New People's Army in Southern Mindanao openly declared it is welcoming Palparan in the region as a legitimate target. As Palparan sows fear and terror among hapless civilians and hunts for his next victim, he might as well remember that his days are numbered, too.
Palparan, the 10th ID-AFP and Mrs. Arroyo will fail in their campaign of crushing the revolutionary movement as sure as the sun rises in the east. They do not realize that the ground for revolution is made fertile much more by their intensified oppression and exploitation against the people.
