Arnold Schwarzenegger and Gavin Newsom to the right of Sarah Palin?

Alaska Governor and 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin increased the severance tax on oil and natural gas in the State of Alaska to 25% in 2007. California's Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and California Republicans, however, stand steadfast against an oil and natural gas severance tax, even as California teeters on the verge of bankruptcy. And, San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom, who would be governor, and president, remains silent.
