Last Saturday beer brewing classes were held at the downtown TOW Space. And in two to three weeks those who took part in the class are looking forward to drinking the beer brewed in the class.

The instructor for these classes says: “Beer brewing is easy. You don’t need fancy equipment or special ingredients. The formula is simple: water, sugar, yeast, herb*. When you brew your own beer you are taking back an art that has been lost and corrupted by corporate breweries. I want to encourage all of you to take that art back, recreate it and reinvent it.” - Brewmaster Chris

* Most all herbs can be used to flavor the beer. Hops is the most common, but any herb can be used. For this class the instructor used mugwort. Malt extract was used for this brew.

The class was hands on and took about two hours. Uploaded are some photos from the class showing some of the steps. The instructor also provided two kegs full of beer he had brewed. Free samples were enjoyed by all. Another class is being planned for next month.
