What makes the people safe is knowing who the enemy is, not obeying without question every order put to them.
Today Southern California was subjected to another Christofascist obedience compliance training drill, this time under the guise of earthquake response to a simulated 7.8 “Big One” earthquake.
Without thought and without question, California citizens working in companies across the Southland were instructed to stop work and walk outside, mill around for a few minutes, and then return to work.
The supposition is that evacuating possibly damaged buildings in the aftermath of a large earthquake is something that people should be trained to do such that in the event of an actual large earthquake there won’t be panic and everyone will know what to do.
The absurdity of the reasons given for today’s exercise has been covered endlessly across California, punctuated by actual deadly earthquakes over the years. The evidence is that such meaningless exercises among the general populace are pointless. They don’t “raise awareness” of earthquake preparedness and they don’t motivate people to establish food, water, and other caches of materials for the eventual “Big One.”
Among first responders, medical, fire, rescue, and other infrastructure personnel, such drills are useful and they take place periodically, usually according to scheduled training regimes. Among the actual public, such drills are meaningless toward the stated goals. What they are is simply more obedience training of the sheeple. More idiot baby steps toward the growing fascism of which we’ve been subjected to since the Christofascist Bush regime hijacked the 2000 election.
It is always a good idea for citizens living in an earthquake or fire zone to be constantly prepared for the eventualities of their environment, including storage of food, water, batteries, candles, matches, books, First Aid kits, and all the usual things that health and safety officials are always suggesting. These compliance acts of obedience have nothing to do with being prepared and are solely acts of fascism against us.
