Corporate scam artists Ken Hollowell, Jim DeCicco & Marcus Barcroft are attempting to cheat musicians and sponsors of the Los Angeles Music community.

I am an outside observer who has been watching the unscrupulous activities of these scam artists for the past 8 months. At the beginning of this year 2007, they joined together to assist a local award show and it's 16 year Founder Al Bowman, by forming a corporation to produce the long running Los Angeles Music Awards Event. It was during this time when I met with CEO Mr. Hollowell & President Jim DeCicco in regards to a potential business transaction. It only took a short while to determine that the 2 of them were up to no good and that it would be a mistake to be involved in any business with them. Only a year before, a performance sponsorship was quoted at $5000...they were now asking for $25,000...to be on stage at the Kodak Theater. I checked with the Kodak to find that they were not even on the schedule and that the date of the supposed show was already booked by Steven Spielberg.

I contacted the founder Mr. Bowman about this. He said he informed Hollowell & DeCicco of the lack of availability at the Kodak but they only ridiculed him and threatened to kick him off the board. He said it was then that he realized his new partners were operating from a lack of integrity, and that he needed to find a way out and to get his show back from them. According to Bowman one of their board meetings turned ugly when DeCicco threatened to beat him with a baseball bat while Hollowell threatend to bring trumped up legal charges against him.

Since Hollowell & DeCicco have defaulted on their contractual obligaton, Bowman decided that in the best interest of the Los Angeles Music scene he need to take action. Last week the website was temporarily turned off by a third party owner of the domain. In response to this, Hollowell & DeCicco filed a lawsuit against Bowman. DeCicco further went on to attempt to defraud Network Solutions by claiming to be the owner of the domain in an effort to regain control. His attempt failed. Authorities have been notified and an investigation is currently under way.

With a little more than 3 months till the award show, litigation is in the works. The unfortunate part of this scenario is that those who stand to be most negatively affected are the musicians and sponsors. Through these proceedings, the best that can be hoped for is, that the corporation be dissolved and that the show be returned to it’s founder Al Bowman, so he may put the show on as he has done the past 16 years. It is sad to see that Hollowell, DeCicco & Barcroft are attempting to destroy Bowman’s 16 years of effort in producing the Los Angeles Music Awards.

It is this reporter’s opinion that Hollowell, DeCicco & Barcroft are not nice people. They have little or no experience in the music indusrty. Their unscrupulous activities and mismanagement of corporate business is appalling. If there is any justice in this world, all 3 of them deserve to be heavily fined and potentially incarcerated, but that is for the court to decide.

If you come across any of these 3 scam artists; Ken Hollowell, Jim DeCicco or Marcus Barcroft, please be warned. They are thugs, bullies and liars. DO NOT TRUST THEM!!!
