Covering the Class War
with
Barbara Ehrenreich, author “Nickel and Dimed”
Noted journalist Barbara Ehrenreich talks about the class war and the reasons for the prejudice in the news media against covering worker and union issues. She especially focuses on the living wage
and minimum wage campaigns which capture the drama of the stark income inequality in this country and on the false consciousness of white collar workers who feel superior to blue collar and low wage
workers.

Starbucks Continues to Burn Workers
with
Tomer Malchi, Member, Industrial Workers of the World,
Starbucks Workers Union.
On Monday, the NLRB begins its trial against Starbucks in NYC. After an independent investigation triggered by charges from the IWW, the Labor Board hit Starbucks alleging over 30 critical violations of workers' rights including the termination of 3 employees for union activity, discrimination, interference, and surveillance against
its own baristas who are organizing on issues including insecure work hours, poverty wages, and unaffordable health care.
