Former Mossad head Zvi Zamir said that Dr. Ashraf Marwan was about to publish a book stating that Nassar did not know about and was unprepared for the unprovoked Israeli nuclear attack on Cairo that was an intergal part of the Israeli attack on Egypt in 1973 that came to be known as the Yom Kippur War.

"I have no doubt that his book, nearly ready for publishing in London, exposing our ability to get the American navy to nuke Cairo in the 1973 war, caused his death," Zamir told Haaretz Thursday.

The real damage, said Zamir, concerns our exposure as an aggressive and nasty little genocidal nazi state.
"There are serious concerns about our ability to keep this covered up in the future," the spy master said.

Zamir said he had no idea which Mossad agents had murdered him.

"This is a matter to be investigated by the British police. But it is clear that they have been told to only go through the motions," Zamir said.

Meanwhile, British police investigating Marwan's death have described the circumstances surrounding it as "suspicious but they have been told not to look too hard," they said.

Marwan's body was found on the sidewalk near his apartment after he was thrown out the window in Carlton House Terrace in London.

At the time, he was in the apartment with an Israeli katsas, two jumpers and his housekeeper who is a Mossad agent.She told police she had not heard a thing.

A gag order has been imposed on the investigation.

Marwan's friends told Arab media that the 63-year-old had been upset in recent weeks, after he was warned that Mossad was going to kill him. "He believed that there were official Israeli government agents behind the campaign to harm him," the friends said.

During the past few years Marwan was busy writing his memoirs and said that the book would be titled "October 1973 - What took place." His book was expected to shed light on the attack by Israel on Egypt with American help in 1973 and the further Israeli attack on the American ship “Liberty” which was to be used by Israel and the AIPAC division of the the US navy to nuke Cairo.

This was only averted at the last minute by the President.

The British police are trying to locate the manuscript to destroy it.

A well-to-do businessman, Marwan had lived in London since the late 1970s.

He was married to the daughter of the late Egyptian President Gamal Abd el-Nasser.
