WESTCHESTER, LOS ANGELES, April 14, 2007 - Westchester is a part of Los Angeles that most people just drive through on their way to the airport. It is an area not known for progressive politics. But all that is changing and today’s demonstration in the shopping district of Westchester is an indication of that change

A local grassroots group called Environmental Change Makers held a march up and down Sepulveda Blvd this Saturday to bring attention to the threat of global warming. They are calling for an 80% cut in carbon emissions by the year 2050. Also joining in the march were members of the LosAngeles Green Party who are planning a series of Earth Day events this month, including a presentation on the South Central Farmers the coming Wednesday, April 18th.
