Just off Interstate 70 in Abilene Kansas is the final resting place of Dwight D. Eisenhower. In that small wind swept town is his Presidential Library. Upon the grounds is a small building the houses Ike’s tomb. Hanging on the wall above his tomb are three quotes that were so important they are hanging above his final resting place. The photograph is one of the quotes.
It reads "Every gun made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and not clothed... This is not a way of life at all... Under the cloud of threatening war, it is humanity hanging from a cross of iron."
After a lifetime in the military and 8 years as president, he of all people would know about such things.
