SANTA MONICA, Sunday, October 30, 2005 – Every Sunday for the past two and half years members of Veterans for Peace have set up crosses for each US military death in Iraq on the beach in Santa Monica.

The installation is called Arlington West. Sadly, the number grows with every passing week. This week 2016 crosses were set up. Veterans from WWII, Korea, Vietnam, the Gulf War and the current Iraq War all take part in the setting up of crosses both to honor the dead and to call for an end the war and to bring the troops home now.

As the number of dead grows the task of set up and tear down is becoming more and more time consuming. Volunteers are badly needed. If you can donate any time please see http://www.veteransforpeace.org/ for more information. Here are some other related links http://www.arlingtonwestfilm.com/ and http://www.addictedtowar.com/mfso.htm

The installation will be traveling to four local college campuses in November. Volunteers are needed, please call 323 395 1843 for more information.

The vets also have plans for a three day set up this coming Veterans Day weekend starting on the 11th.
