6/23/05, 4:30 pm: Two officers from the Northeast Division were seen pummeling a young Latino at the corner of Sunset and Coronado in Echo Park. There were many witnesses who said it was unprovoked, and that the victim was not resisting. Someone videotaped at least a part of the incident. A third-hand account was that the victim might have burned a red light on his bike. Minutes later, 7 more police cars arrived, along with 8 more policemen and what looked like 4 undercover cops. Witnesses were interviewed for this Incident 3958, but no sign of media attention. Victim was taken away in patrol car. Could Critical Mass get on the case -- or anyone else?
