My 75 years of age and formally Rush Limbaugh fan came over to ask me to open a pepper can. “What are we doing with those kids over there”, she asked.
I looked around to see if my kids were over at her house taking something like her car, apart. So far, so good because they were out of visual range and there was no smoke drifting in the breeze. I worked off the lid of the shaker and asked her why she wasn't using her walker.
“Have you heard about the depleted Uranium they are using?” she proceeded to say. I nodded and told her I was voting for Nader as a write in because he was on record as pulling out of there as a platform plank. She looked thoughtful and then told me that 9-11 was really bothering her as a reason for the kids ( by now , yes, even I had gathered that she was referring to the troops) being over there.
“9-11 was an inside job”, I told her as she nodded and said “ I know”.
I don't hear Rush playing loudly on her radio when she is puttering anymore in her flower garden.
