Moscow.-

Russian youth organizations and friendship with Cuba associations,

schools, businesspeople and others, rejected the recent measures taken by the

United States against the Island, Prensa Latina reported from Moscow. A

declaration issued by the Russian Youth League (Komsomol) in Moscow said the US

initiatives seek to strangle the Revolution by applying methods without taking

into account the consequences, constituting a new aggression against Havana.

According to the text, the arbitrary interference in the affairs of a sovereign

nation, the embargo, and the threats of an armed intervention unmask the

"bastion of democracy" behind which the Bush administration hides. The

document further notes that the new US restrictions will hit Cuban families

hardest through a reduction in remittances and other measures.
