Re: Use of Force against Nathaniel Jones / Commendations

Dear Colonel Thomas H. Streicher, Jr.,

I am responding to the use of force incident, which was used against Mr. Nathaniel Jones.
My heartfelt sympathy and gratitude goes to yourself, and all the wonderful men and women who work under your sound command.

After reviewing portions of both videotapes, hearing statements and having knowledge of other evidence, I want to give you our appreciation for your fine police agency.

I understand that you are under great pressure to resign, ‘because of your integrity.’ Where is the public’s outcry against Nathaniel Jones for using racial slurs against your officers? Where is the outcry against his illegal and excessive drug use? Being under the influence of Cocaine, Phencyclidine (PCP) and Methanol (an ingredient for an embalming fluid,) better explains the inhuman strengths and dangers those fine officers were faced against.

Nathaniel Jones' family is asking for an “independent investigation.” My investigation concludes that your officers used only a reasonable amount of force necessary to protect themselves and others and to affect an arrest. Had the officers not done what Nathaniel forced them to do, they would have been derelict of their duties.

I offer our commendations to the following:

· I commend you Colonel Thomas H. Streicher, Jr. for your integrity and strong leadership. I commend you for not giving in to the racial propagandists who desire to divide the city even more.

· I commend all officers who were personally involved in the altercation. I commend them for their ‘attention to duty.’ I commend them for their perseverance. I commend them for the protection of their community they so well serve. I commend them for upholding the Constitution of the United States of America.

Please extend this to the officers involved.
