Should indymedia censor?

Why indymedia should censor.

The stated idea behind Indymedia is to democratize information and media. Guided by this noble principle, the newswire is left mostly uncensored. It is possible, however, to view Indymedia's purpose from a different perspective, namely that of empowerment of the masses against the extremely wealthy -- say the bottom 99% by wealth vs. the top 1%. From this perspective, there is no problem with censorship, if such censorship will further the cause of the people. And it is clear that such censorship could help to make Indymedia appear more credible by getting rid of posts that are obvious disinformation or attempts at disruption.
