Benefit show in Santa Ana Saturday

On Saturday, April 5, 2003, the Santa Ana youth group, Young Citizens for Community Action, will have a benefit show to raise funds for youth activities. The Young Citizens for Community Action formed to create positive afterschool activites for youth in Santa Ana. We are trying to raise money to have art classes, music lessons, and tutoring available for disadvantaged youth. We want to keep young people away from destructive activities, like gangs and drugs. We believe that because we are from the community, we can work with and for the community to provide positive outlets for our youth.

Our show will begin at 6:30 PM, at the Centro Cultural de Mexico, located at 1522 S. Main Street, in Santa Ana. Many diverse acts will be featured, including the eclectic Lady Peanut, and hip hop's most powerful, Fourth Dimension and Scott Keltic Knot. Grunge bands Idle and Branchless Tree will also perform. The accomplished Orange County bands, Over the Counter Intelligence, Tazumal, and Cuauhtemoc are headlining this event. These groups feature a unique and captivating Chicano punk/metal sound, and have all been showcased in OC Weekly.

The show is all ages. A $5.00 donation is suggested.
