According to a live report just aired on Fox 11 news in Los Angeles, the anti-war protest at the Westwood Federal Building is still ongoing.

Video footage just broadcast shows several hundred protesters still gathered in Westwood. They are accompanied by dozens of riot police, but the situation appears to be peaceful at the present, despite a number of arrests which took place at the same spot earlier in the day.

Tonight's protest appears largely spontaneous, as the main Westwood demonstration is scheduled for tomorrow, and no call to gather apppears to have been posted online. Because the bombs began falling on Baghdad relatively late in the evening (a little before 10PM EST, or 7PM Pacific), the bulk of anti-war actions are to be held on Thursday. LA joins San Francisco and Eugene as west coast cities reported by Indymedia to have had protests Wednesday evening after the bombing started.
