Stop Fascism!, Break Your Chains, and Rational Anarchism have all dumped their PayPal donation mechanism in Solidarity with the website What Really Happened. PayPal, apparently in political retaliation for What Really Happened's anti-war views, pulled the plug on What Really Happeneds PayPal account, seizing their funds for six months. PayPal, a major source of payment facilitation for pornographic websites, informed What Really Happened that their decision was based on the content of the independent news outlets website.
Reports on IndyMedia indicate that a growing number of websites and individuals are dumping PayPal, transferring their funds out, and closing their accounts. It is not beyond reason to expect that PayPal may become the first electronic payment system to experience a "run on the bank." Unlike actual banks, PayPal does not appear to have any protection from such developments. The question, then, is whether this means the end of PayPal?
Coincidently, today is the day that What Really Happened promoted as a Virtual March on Washington aiming at stopping Congress from approving $12 Billion in additional aid to the fascist Zionist state of Israel.
We urge all anti-war organizations and individuals to take action against PayPal. Write PayPal a letter, or better yet, close your PayPal account.
