While You were protesting

what else could we have done?

While we were protesting some pesticides were sprayed on Organic food. Some trees were cut down. Some Iraqi babies died of malnutrition. Some welfare mothers smoked crack instead of feeding their kids and some other welfare mothers worked 40 hours and still couldn't pay rent.

While we were e-mailing they discounted us as just another opinion poll.

While we were fighting for our rights to march in New York, the New York newspapers ignored their own city council blasting the police departments actions.

While we hated each other, someone who hates all of us took over.

I recently read an article, on NY indymedia, about the valiant women of Buenos Aires who struggle to feed and educate the children there, despite the non-existant help from a non-existant government.

While I was reading I realized what direct action is.

While I am writing, I am thinking of ways to get my community together to buy solar panels, build gardens as sustainable food sources, and educate esl kids with new books and art supplies, any suggestions?
