Sandwiched
Artists have been invited to make sandwich-board signs which will be worn by
the curator at the junction of Hollywood/Sunset/Virgil (Los Angeles)
weekdays between 2 pm and 5 pm throughout the month of February.
Sandwich-board workers [dictionary; a sandwich-board is one of two
advertisement boards worn by a sandwich-man] are badly paid and financially
‘sandwiched’ between a piece of wood and a hard place. In this project
nobody is paid- instead it is an attempt to create a very simple exchange of
labour, studio labour exchanged for display labour.
