Valencia tree-sit needs help in Valencia & OC.

Help Needed at the Oak Sun/Mon, 12/1-2
John Quigley announced today that signs have been put up on the street
beside the 400 year-old Pico Canyon oak tree announcing no parking starting
Monday, December 2.  He believes this means that the developer John Laing
Homes will start to cut the roots and box the tree in preparation for
moving it (which is likely to kill it).

He is asking for everyone who can make it, to come out Sunday night, park
by the tree and sleep in their vehicle to form a protective barrier.  Or
come out early Monday morning and plan to stay all day, if possible. For
the latest info, check the website, http://www.saveoldglory.com

In addition, Doug Korthof announced that he is organizing a demonstration
every day this next week, Monday - Friday, (12/2-6), 9:30 - 11 am, at the
Headquarters of the Developer John Laing Homes, 895 Dove Street, Newport
Beach, CA
(It will be announced to the media as 10 am, be there by then.)  For info,
contact Doug Korthof 562-430-2495 or cell 714-496-1567

If you can't make it, please send more faxes to Supervisor Michael
Antonovich, Fifth District, Los Angeles County, at Fax 213-974-1010.  You
can also send faxes to Lawrence Webb, CEO, John Laing Homes at
