The money that U.S. gives to Israel go mainly to U.S.war plants. The Saudis buy billion a year from the same "defense" manufacturing companies. The clout of the Israeli lobby is way overrated. is way o

"Since the 1978 Camp David Accords, which paved the way for peace between Israel and Egypt, The U.S..gave Israel

billion a year, along with supplemental aid for loan guarantees, immigrant absorption and a variety of weapons development programs. The larget recipient of U.S.assistance, Israel has received more than billion to date, more than 2/3 of it in military

assistance. That assistance has not only made Israel the strongest country in the Middle East; it has also made the American defense industry a strong lobbyist for the Jewish state.

According to the Federation of American Scientists, American defense companies have sold Israel .3 billion in state-of the-art weapons systems since 1990, making Israel's defense a domestic economic priority" as reported on 4/30/2002 by MSNBC news service.

They also reported that Saudi Arabia bought billion in weapons from the U.S. in the last ten years.( billion a year)

Many people overrate the power of the Israeli lobby. Their budget for buying congressmen and its effect on congressional

appropriations is infinitesimal when compared to the power of the "defense"(WAR) establishment to accomplish THEIR financial goals!

On two occasions in the past 5 or 6 years the Israeli lobby got bills approved at congressional hearings only to see a representative of one of the country's owner families (one was a Rockefeller spokesmen) come to the committee THE NEXT DAY AND HAVE THE ENTIRE VOTE REVERSED! ON BOTH OCCASIONS THE EMBARRASSED ISRAELI LOBBYISTS QUIETLY SLIPPED OUT OF THE ROOM WITHOUT EVEN A MURMUR OF A PROTEST OR COMMENT! THE MYTH OF "The POWERFUL ISRAELI LOBBY" VANISHED FOR ALL THOSE FAMILIAR WITH THOSE EVENTS! This was reported at the time very inconspicously by THE WALL STREET jOURNAL.
