Short story on Solano Canyon Community Garden
A garden is buzzing with life. It is a place where in poetry all good things happen- where the cycles of time are met out with grace. Los Angeles, a city founded on the garden dream and lived much of its history as one huge orchard is now better known for less sartorial elements like smog, racism poverty and concrete.
East of downtown I interviewed Al Renner of the Solano Canyon Community Garden. The garden is on plot of land in lower Solano Canyon- sitting on a hillside above the 110 Freeway. Below a shady tree, the conversation plucked fruits from the complex tree of LA
