Chicano Press Assocation:

The primary objective of the CPA is to advance the struggle for Raza self-determination by promoting and unifying the progressive Chicano press/media.

Essential to this process is confronting stereo-types espoused by the U.S. bourgeois media. The CPA holds the position that Raza are colonized, indigenous people and that the so-called "Southwest U.S." is in fact Aztlan, part of the Mexicano nation, stolen in the U.S. expansionlist/imperialist war of 1846-1848.

Furthermore the CPA will commit itself to combating all manifestations of oppression and exploitation. Central to putting into effect our objectives the CPA membership will actively get involved in the day-to-day struggles being waged by our movement and by our people. As part of this movement activism, the CPA will commit itself to organizing study sessions, forums, give presentations and disseminate information/liberature/publications to our communites to help raise the political consiousness of nuestro pueblo.

Only those who support the goals and objectives of the CPA, and are at some level active in media work (writers, journalism, popular art/murals, radio, TV, political music, etc.) are welcome to attend our meeting.
