Beware...vital information used to make decisions in a democratic society and to protect our environment are rapidly disappearing.
Beware. We have entered The Age of Missing Information. Bad enough that we do not know what the world's most powerful killing machine is doing around the world, but vital information used to make decisions in a democratic society and to protect our environment are rapidly disappearing.
The U.S. military--now blood-driven like the predators who have
killed my beloved chickens--may treat others, even its own citizens,
who differ and dare to dissent, like it has been treating innocent
Afghans. The president is centralizing his power in many ways by
refusing access, the essence of democracy.
When are more good Americans going to wake up? As a great German
theologian said, "First they took the Jews. Not being Jewish, I did
not give it much attention. Then they took the gypsies...then the
gays...then the Poles...By the time they got to me, there was not
much help available."

Looks like epa's envirofacts:
http://www.epa.gov/enviro/
has bit the dust. I checked all the internal query forms, attempted
a query and came to a page that said:
THE PAGE CANNOT BE DISPLAYED
I need your help. I have a page titled, "Post 9/11 Age of Missing
Information" at:
http://www.mapcruzin.com/news/rtkpost911.htm
If you have time, please take a look at the page and if you find
anything that should be there please let me know. There is no
need to limit yourself to government pages. The post 9/11 RTK
chill has affected many and we should document these as well.
Also, if any of these pages come back to life, in the same or
altered form, I'd like to know about that too.
Thnx
Here are the details of what we apparently no longer have access
to. It has been added to the above page.
http://www.epa.gov/enviro/html/pcs/pcs_query_java.html
The Water Discharge Permits Query Form allows you to retrieve
selected data from the Permit Compliance System (PCS) database
in Envirofacts regarding facilities holding National Pollutant
Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permits.
http://www.epa.gov/enviro/html/sdwis/sdwis_query.html
The Safe Drinking Water Information System (SDWIS) contains
information about public water systems and their violations of
EPA's drinking water regulations, as reported to EPA by the
states. These regulations establish maximum contaminant levels,
treatment techniques, and monitoring and reporting requirements to
ensure that water systems provide safe water to their customers.
This query will help you to find your drinking water supplier and
view its violations and enforcement history since 1993.
http://www.epa.gov/enviro/html/cerclis/cerclis_query.html
The Superfund Query Form allows you to retrieve data from the
Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and
Liability Information System (CERCLIS) database in Envirofacts.
http://www.epa.gov/enviro/html/rcris/rcris_query_java.html
The Hazardous Waste Query Form allows you to retrieve selected
data from the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act Information
(RCRAInfo) database in Envirofacts.
http://www.epa.gov/enviro/html/brs/brs_query.html
This Query Form allows you to retrieve selected data from the BRS
database in Envirofacts for the facilities that are of interest to you.
Select between different data retrieval options.
http://www.epa.gov/enviro/html/tris/tris_query.html
The Toxic Releases Query Form allows you to retrieve data from
the Toxics Release Inventory (TRI) database in Envirofacts. Your
query returns facility information and chemical reports, which
tabulate air emissions, surface water discharges, releases to land,
underground injections, and transfers to off-site locations.
[note that TRI info is still available at http://www.epa.gov/tri/ ]
http://www.epa.gov/enviro/html/fii/fii_query_java.html
The Facility Information Query Form allows you to retrieve selected
facility data from 15 national systems listed below.
http://www.epa.gov/enviro/html/airs/airs_query_java.html
The Air Releases Query Form allows you to retrieve selected data
from the Aerometric Information Retrieval System/AIRS Facility
Subsystem (AIRS/AFS) database in Envirofacts.
http://www.epa.gov/enviro/html/emci/emci_query.html
The Chemical Query Form allows you to obtain the acronyms,
chemical identification numbers, and chemical names reported by
the Envirofacts databases (AFS, PCS, RCRIS and TRIS) using the
Envirofacts Master Chemical Integrator (EMCI). You may see if the
chemical is included in other groups, or is made up of other
components.
