Some thoughts and ideas of the current situation after reading articles on indymedia: "How the Right can take advantage, and what the Rest can do".

In a political context, throughout the world there are wars and conflicts. People dying, economic disintegration, and a rise of resistance movements. This is a result of dying capitalism and its attempts to establish something which the corporate media calls "globalization", in other words, to accept the proposed "New World Order" drafted by the U.S. and its client states. Nothing more can be further from the truth, rather, what we have is a New World Disorder.
As an activist from the third world, I can understand how many in the developed world have reacted to the events which took place in Washington and New York, shock and horror, as horrible as it was. But my dear friends, this has been happening every day in the third world, and in my native Latin America.
What I attempt to do now is try to put the recents events into perspective.
It appears that the U.S. corporate media has attempted to distract these resistance movements by creating an 'international' effort on what it calls "terrorism". Terrorism for the 'powers that are', may constitute anything which might threaten or disturb "normal" business life and activities, for example, the protesters at the Colombian embassy in Sydney last month, unarmed, with children, who did a peaceful sit in, constituted a "terrorist" act which created the largest police operation since the Hilton bombing.
Unlike the Cold War, when the term "communism" was better defined, the term "terrorism" might be now used as a pretext to: distract, and, pacify, a truly historic phenomenon which we see today with the world anti-capitalist movement.
Here, I will attempt to argue why I think that it is the United States itself; who has created the conditions for new strategies and methods to combat our resistance to their "globalization" project.
We are being asked to believe that Osama Bin Laden, who sleeps in a tent in a desert has been training pilots to fly our most modern, sophisticated jumbo jets with such pinpoint accuracy that they are able to hit these three targets without anyone wondering why these planes were so far off path? We are also being asked to believe that there were four religious-political fanatics who just happened to be skilled airline pilots who just happened to want to kill themselves today without having claimed responsiblity. This is very rare, if not, very unusual for Middle Eastern suspects.
Our heads are constantly being drummed about Osama Bin Laden, except for this one fact: That the United States created him. Where did he go to terrorist school? At the CIA. According to a piece on MSNBC last year, this was well documented.
When the Soviet Union occupied Afghanistan, the CIA trained Bin Laden and his accomplices in how to commit acts of terrorism against the Soviet forces. Bin Laden was grateful for what the U.S. taught him and, perhaps, thought it might be fun to use those same techniques against the U.S. since the United States has been bombing the middle east ever since they were after their oil. But judging from Bin Laden's track record, he is not the type of character to be intimidated in any way and has the trademark of openly and publicly declaring his objectives and operations. All of these facts do not add up when one compares it to what the corporate media is telling us.
There is no doubt whatsover, that the U.S. endorses terrorism, only if it's the U.S. doing the terrorizing. Throughout the operations of Desert Storm and Desert Shield, the events which took place in New York and Washington were quite mild.
The U.S. also paid and trained and armed a group of terrorists in Nicaragua in the 1980s to fight the Sandinistas. The U.S. killed over 30,000 civilians who supported them. Thirty thousand murdered civilians which most people in the developed world really don't know about.
In Colombia right now, the so called "Plan Colombia" $7.5 billion dollars of US military aid to fund a terror state, is being used to fight the FARC and its supporters. Colombia is the most displaced country on Earth, with the worst human rights abuses. Despite efforts in getting this message across, still, the struggle of my people goes virtually un-noticed.
The point is, I believe the recent domestic terrorist bombings have not been conducted by a guy from the desert but rather by U.S. agents.
From the first minutes of yesterday’s events, I never heard that possibility suggested. Why is that? Maybe it’s because the Arabs are much better foils. A key ingredient in getting North Americans whipped into a frenzy against a new enemy is the all-important race card. It’s much easier to get us to hate when the object of our hatred doesn’t look like us.
Congressmen and Senators spent the day calling for more money for the military; one Senator on CNN even said he didn’t want to hear any more talk about more money for education or health care -- we should have only one priority: our self-defense.
Bush withdraws from the Kyoto agreement, walks us out of the Durban conference on racism, insists on restarting the arms race -- you name it, Bush has done it all.
It really does not add up even if Bin Laden is found to be behind it, judging from the CIA's dark history of alliances and operations, particularly in Latin America, with infamous nazi's like Klaus Barbie and so on.
Here is my hypothesis:
1. This is a pacification program aimed against the world anti-capitalist movement, the CIA calls this type of thing "psychological warfare".
2. This serves the U.S. to justify more military spending, by introducing the far right into the political arena, creating more repression and violations of freedoms etc.
3. Taking the above into account, this also serves to distract the world anti-capitalist movement as counterinsurgency.
What to watch out for:
* Defeatist attitudes and sentiments which may be used to create low morale on mediums such as this via right wing agents. This is not uncommon, especially during political intensity as we saw during S11 in (melbourne).
* Scare tactics by the corporate media.
* Police harrassment.
What we can do:
* We must not be intimidated as some on indymedia have demonstrated.
* We must not succumb to any defeatist attitudes.
* We must realize that what happened in the U.S. is nothing new on a world scale, and it is being used against those who resist.
* We must condition ourselves mentally.
* The last point, but the most important point, is that although horrible things happen every day. This should not effect our resistance as it has not done before considering the above analysis.
