Come learn about the PLAN PUEBLA PANAMA!!
WORKSHOP with ANDRES BARREDA
Don't miss this unique opportunity to learn about President Fox's plans to
bring "development" south by building maquiladoras in the largely indigenous
rural Mexico. ANDRES BARRREDA, professor at the National Autonomy University
(UNAM) in Mexico City and coordinator of the Center for Social Analysis,
Information and Popular Education, will be in the San Diego area this
weekend (June 22-24) for the BioDev events and has agreed to put on a
special workshop on this controversial plan. In coordination with
progressive movements throughout Mexico, Andrés has compiled information on
Fox's development program and has unearthed evidence that reveals its true
strategic value. Known for his work with geopolitical maps that show the
connections between the militarization of Chiapas and the petroleum
industry, Andrés Barreda has published extensively in Mexico and a
translation of one article was published in the January/February, 2001
edition of NACLA Report on the Americas. The workshop will include the
projection of Andrés' new maps on the Plan Puebla Panama.
