Is the “Mega” Spy Case Headed for Hollywood? (tags)
I can see the newspaper advert: “Dustin Hoffman as ‘Mega,’ the Israeli Spy who outwitted U.S. officials for more than 20 years!” In May, 2008, an ex-U.S. military engineer, Ben-Ami Kadish, was indicted for spying for Israel. Supposedly, he has ties to the convicted Israeli spy, Jonathan Pollard. The Feds believe that another Israeli operative, known only as “Mega,” is still on the loose. But, they are closing in on him--fast. What a film “Mega” will make!
The Neocons’ Ties to the 9/11 Commission’s Report (tags)
There was little chance that the 9/11 Commission was going to establish the full truth. One reason why: Its Executive Director, the Neocon-loving Philip D. Zelikow, had his own agenda, to wit: protecting the interest of the Bush-Cheney Gang and linking “Al-Qaeda to Iraq.” Zelikow had previously written a book with Condi Rice, authored a paper used to justify the preemptive attack on Iraq and worked on Bush’s presidential transition team in 2000/2001.
AIPAC’s Gabfest: Israel Lobby Shows Off Its Power (tags)
The American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) was in Washington, DC, for a three-day gabfest. Leaders of both the Democratic and Republican Parties were slated to make appearances at the event held at the Washington Convention Center. The Israel First Lobbying group is known for its dominating influence over the U.S. Congress and the presidency. Outside the Center, on March 12, 2007, activists made their voices of protest heard.
Another Surreal Day in the Age of Bush (tags)
The baseball season opened on April 3, 2006. President George W. Bush was in Cincinnati and tossed out the “ceremonial” pitch. Jay Leno said it went off to the “far right.” Meanwhile, nine brave U.S. troops were killed in Iraq on that day; one for every inning Bush was at the game. Zacarias Moussaoui, a suspected mental case, faces the death penalty for 9/11. Also, corruption-tainted Rep. Tom DeLay (R-TX) fears a hammering from the justice system.
