With the absolutizing of profit maximization, the neoliberal elites ruthlessly dehumanize workers by reducing them to a cost factor to be lowered.
I am a guardian ad-Litem, author, speaker, and writer on children’s issues working to draw attention to the millions of American children reported to Child Protection Systems every year. Our schools and prisons are filled with them. They need our voices and our help. Teachers know the difficulties caused by traumatized children in their classrooms. Extraordinary drop out rates and failing students are being blamed on poor teaching and the influx of immigrants today. This is an outrage. Not enough attention is brought to the severely damaged children being managed by public education or the poor political stewardship that has brought these conditions to be. Let’s build a grassroots movement to bring attention to the issues of abused and neglected children.

About THREE THOUSAND people turned out today at noon for a mid-day rally led by Rep. Maxine Waters at King/Drew supporting the King/Drew Trauma Center. Also in attendance were local politicians and dozens of community leaders and activists.

One Year On and the Swiss Authorities Try to Jail the Aubonne Bridge Activists they Nearly Killed while they were doing an action against the G8 in Evian. On the 1st of June 2003, an international affinity group blockaded the motorway in order to stop an official delegation from reaching the g8 in Evian, two climbers suspended themselves from a single rope being stretched across the street. Nevertheless a police officer cut the rope and sent Martin plummeting 20 metres into a shallow, rocky stream beneath the bridge, while Gesine was saved by the quick reflexes of her support team who managed to grab hold of the rope. An anti-repression gathering in Geneva on the weekend before the court case (26th and 27th of June) is being held, bringing together support groups from incidents of legal or physical repression across Europe.
