Tommy Tomorrow, the cartoonist, said that William Kristol’s career as a warmonger had “failed upward!” On Aug. 11, 2008, activist Russell Mokhiber picketed the NYT’s office and demanded that Kristol, who was recently named to its Op Ed Page, meet with severely wounded Iraq War veteran, Tomas Young. Young is featured in Phil Donahue’s film, “Body of War.” Being a repulsive Neocon, like Kristol, means you never have to say you’re sorry.

Pentagon Gets Coffin, While Protesters Get Arrested! (tags)
Activists marched on the Pentagon, on March 20, 2006. In a direct action, a symbolic coffin was hoisted over a fence by the protesters at the facility, located in northern Virginia, just opposite Washington, D.C. About 20 demonstrators were arrested. The “Iraq Pledge of Resistance” organization sponsored the event on the third anniversary of the bloodbath in Iraq. A prayer was also offered near the Pentagon to honor all of the Iraqi dead.

Sgt. Jonathan Tessar, 36, a Green Beret who always wanted to be a soldier was killed Monday when an bomb detonated near a Humvee carrying the Simi Valley native and three other soldiers near Al Mahmudiyah, Iraq.

On a sidewalk in front of the White House, on Oct. 26, 2005, anti-war activists, Cindy Sheehan, John Bruhns and Juan M. Torres, Sr., and others from groups, like “Veterans for Peace,” gathered at a Vigil to protest the conflict. The toll of U.S. military dead had just reached the grim 2,000 mark. Sheehan predicted the war will be another Vietnam, unless the people can bring it to an end.

A 10-year veteran Santa Monica police officer was killed during his second tour of duty in Iraq, it was announced Friday. Officer Ricardo A. Crocker, 39, was killed Thursday in the Al-Anbar province in a rocket-propelled grenade attack, Santa Monica police Chief James T. Butts announced.
