PARAMILITARY GROUP SUPPORTS TEODORO (tags)
The EPCC News based in Los Angeles today learned from news sources in the Philippines that the official of the Guardians International Inc., a nationwide fraternal brotherhood organization and a known paramilitary group, has declared the group’s support for the presidential candidacy of the Lakas-Kampi’s Gilberto Teodoro Jr. The Guardian International is believed led by former Colonel now Senator Gringo Honasan. Honasan is close to Senator Enrile, the present Senate President a known supporter of President Arroyo. This group has been involved in several coup attempts from Marcos to GMA regime since 1985.The Guardians, composed of civilians, government employees, active and retired police and military, claims a membership of more than one million in different parts of the country.

The Alliance-Philippines (AJLPP) vehemently condemns President Arroyo’s assertions that there should not be anymore EDSA. Referring to the People’s Revolt against dictator Marcos in 1986. Mrs. Arroyo abhorred another EDSA after she herself was propelled into power by another EDSA in 2001 against former President Joseph Estrada For the AJLPP based in the United States, “ For tyrant afraid of people’s power that placed she in power and now threatens her with another uprising, Mrs. Arroyo’s statement is a proof of her alienation to the public.”
